Settlement · Bowing walls · Water · Concrete
Most of this valley sits on Lake Bonneville clay that swells when it is wet and shrinks when it is dry, and nearly every home here has a full basement sitting in it. That is why foundation problems are so common in Utah and so misdiagnosed. Start with the crack tool — it will tell you whether what you are looking at is structural or just concrete curing.
Five questions. This is the same reasoning we use on site, and it will happily tell you that you do not need us.
What we do
Settlement, water, sunken flatwork and crawl space rot all trace back to what the soil around your foundation is doing with water. Fix the symptom without the cause and you will pay twice.
Service areas
Alluvial fan, lakebed clay, high water table, fill over a utility trench — the cause changes by a few miles. Pick your city.
Free assessment
Photos help enormously if you have them — we will tell you before we come out whether this is likely to be structural.
Elevation readings, crack widths and a written scope your engineer can read. Free, and we will tell you plainly when what you have is cosmetic.
